Chippenham hosts its first comedy festival

Chippenham, Wiltshire, is hosting its first ever comedy festival this summer and I have to say I was pretty impressed with the names on the line-up.

Organised by local comedian Wil Hodgson, the weekend of comedy will take place in at the Three Crowns pub from Friday, June 7 through to Sunday, June 9.

The weekend’s headliners are Mark Thomas and Richard Herring, with a total of up to 30 acts performing as a warm-up for the Edinburgh Fringe. It’s an amazing opportunity to see some local West Country talent as well as great established comedians in an intimate venue (tickets are limited to 60 per show), so we’re very excited to be going along!

For further information on the event and how to purchase tickets head to the Chippenham Comedy Festival’s Facebook page.

Be sure to come back later in June to read our write-up of the weekend.

That should be fun, I look forward to hearing about it. I go to comedy nights at Farnham Maltings quite regularly and there are often people I’ve seen on TV before or since. We’ve seen a great improv group there called The Noise Next Door – check them out on Youtube!
