Ultimate Travelist Colouring Book
I love this adult colouring trend – I was a big colourer as a kid and its great that there’s now literally tonnes of colouring books aimed at those of us who never wanted to grow up.
Bringing together two things I love in the form of a colouring book about destinations is just epic – the Ultimate Travelist Colouring Book is a great gift for big kids like myself.
Corkboard World Map
If I had my way, my whole house would be overflowing with kitsch travel-related décor. This is one of my latest faves, a funky corkboard world map. This pin board is the perfect addition to your kitchen or home office. Each individual piece is self-stick so if you’re anything like me when it comes to world geograhy, make sure that you plan out the layout before you attach it to the wall – and if you live in rented accomodation you may want to stick it onto its own board so you can take it with you when you move. It’s not huge but there’s still plenty of space to pin up some of your fave travel-related memories such as ticket stubs or the odd postcard – definitely the perfect wall decoration for any travel fan.
Battery Free, Portable Luggage Scale
Ok, this might not be very ‘bling’, but having recently had to be very careful with my packing due to Air Asia luggage limits, I think this practical little thing’s such a nifty gift idea!
The digital, lightweight scale from Fig and Pickle works on kinetic energy; when you want to use it, you simply give it a vigourous shake, and then it gives you enough energy to weigh your bags. One such shake should last you a couple of minutes, but if you need more just give it another.
The advantages of no batteries means you don’t have to worry about buying or disposing of them, plus if you don’t use the scale for quite a while there’s no concern over battery corrosion (an issue I’ve had with cutesy house lights and videogame controllers in the past – doh!).
Gorgeous Coffee Table Travel Books
Several of these always make it onto my Christmas wishlist every year and 2017 is no different!
I particularly love Lonely Planet’s publications – and currently at the top of my list are Best in Travel 2018, Epic Drives of the World, Secret Marvels of the World, You Only Live Once, and 50 Places to Stay to Blow Your Mind. They’re great for travel inspiration, I can tell you!
Perfect for keeping cosy on flights, while out and about or even wrapped up on the sofa, how about the gift of a beautifully soft cashmere travel wrap?
I love the new range from the Travelwrap Company, which includes the sumptuous Fairisle wraps – a Scandinavian Hugge inspired range of 2-ply cashmere travelwraps.
In addition, for a more special, unique touch, you can have wraps embroidered with initials or a memorable date.
Kodak PIXPRO VR 360 Degree 4K Digital Camera
Perfect for the travel loving tech geek in your life, the Kodak PIXPRO VR 360 Degree 4K Digital Camera lets you take 4K, VR and 360 degree shots.
It shoots for up to two hours of a single charge, and three multi-view angles give you the flexibility to frame, capture and shoot your adventures any way you want. Its PixPro Remote View App also allows you see what you are recording, control the camera and upload your photos and videos to social media.
TomTom Bandit Action Camera
It also has its own little app and a kazillion accessories that you can choose from, but as someone who’s a complete noob when it comes to making videos I loved its really easy to use editing system.
Personalised Bronze Compass
I love this gorgeous compass, and think it’s a really unique present idea for someone who loves to travel. To make it even more special you can add your own personalised engraving onto the compass, plus it comes in a wooden box that you can also monogram with up to four letters.
I think it’s the perfect present to give to your bestest travel buddy (forget the BFF we’re all about the BTB!).
Skyroam Solis Power Bank and WiFi Hotspot
Such a great gift for people that want to stay connected when they travel (me included!) The pocket-sized Skyroam Solis is both a global Wi-Fi hotspot and power bank.
It provides users with super-fast, secure, affordable and unlimited mobile data in over 100 countries, letting you avoid the hassle of purchasing and swapping out local sims, plus you can change up to five devices at any one time. Want!
Gift Cards for Private Jet Travel
For something really out there, how about a gift card with a difference? Stratajet, a booking platform for private jets, has just launched its very own gift card, allowing you to treat a special someone to money off a real luxury travel experience.
The website offers users access to private jet travel at a guaranteed best price, opening up the industry to a wider audience of fliers. Loads of examples of aircraft on the system that compare (and even beat) business class prices per person – they recently had an 8-seater Cessna Citation fly from London to Dublin for only £2,000, so that’s £250 a seat.
You’ve still gotta have deep pockets to travel this way, but if you’re feeling particularly flush you can put whatever value you wish onto the gift card, which can then be redeemed towards a jet charter, part of a charter or an empty leg flight to the destination of your recipients choice.
